All items entrusted to us for an art auction should be with us in the auction house approximately 8 weeks before the next auction.
Step 2 Setting the reserve
Next, the items will be inspected and appraised by our experts at your home or here in the auction house. After the reserve price has been determined between the consignor and the auctioneer, a contract is agreed.
Step 3 Signing the auction order
By consigning your items to our auction, you are entering into an auction contract. This contains the conditions of the consignment. If you are unable to deliver your items to us yourself, we would be happy to assist you. We have been working together with several shipping companies for a number of years. Please contact our office. We would be happy to assist you in selecting and hiring a professional shipping company.
All works of art are insured by us from the moment of handover in our auction house or from collection from your home. The costs of insurance are included in the commission.
Billing for the consignor:
Billing and payment of the proceeds occurs after payment for all items, after about 4 weeks. The payment method is as previously contractually agreed, either in cash or by bank transfer.
If an item is not sold at auction, you do not incur any costs! (Excluding furniture)
You now have the option of collecting the unsold item or offering it for sale again in a future auction.
The consignor withdraws the order after the contract has been entered into:
If the client withdraws the order in whole or in part, he or she must pay 20% of the estimated value and 19% VAT on the agreed reserve price, as well as the costs incurred by the auctioneer.
VG Bild-Kunst royalties for the consignor:
Due to the legal regulations in respect of the collecting society, VG Bild-Kunst, works in the catalogue marked with a * (European copyright royalties to the artist or their successors up to 70 years after their death) are subject to a resale royalty for the purchaser. This is 2% for accepted bids from €400 to €50,000, 1.5% for accepted bids up to €200,000, 0.5% up to €350,000 and 0.25% for accepted bids up to €500,000.
